Velocity Pods
The Product Accelerator
How we handle undefined backlogs with the Product Pod.
Clients often come to us with a vision but no backlog. They want "velocity," but they don't know what to build. Starting a Velocity Pod in this state is dangerous—it leads to building the wrong thing very quickly.
Enter the Product Accelerator.
The Phase 0 Engagement
Before engineering begins, we deploy a "Product Pod" for a 2-4 week sprint.
The Goal
To turn a "Vision" into a "Ready-to-Code Backlog."
The Workflow
- Vision Extraction: Workshops with stakeholders to define the MVP.
- User Journey Mapping: Defining the happy paths.
- AI-Assisted Story Writing:
- We use AI agents to generate User Stories from the journey maps.
- We generate Gherkin syntax (Given/When/Then) acceptance criteria.
- Prototype Validation: Rapidly building wireframes or low-code prototypes to validate flows.
The Output
At the end of the Accelerator, the client gets:
- A prioritized backlog of "Ready" tickets.
- A clear data model.
- A validated design direction.
Transition to Engineering
Once the backlog is ready, the Velocity Pod takes over. Because the "Definition of Ready" is high (thanks to the Accelerator), the engineers can hit maximum velocity immediately.
